MOGSC members, Captains of Oil, Gas & Energy Industry,

It has been 18 days since MCO was imposed.

COVID-19 and MCO have placed our Oil, Gas and Energy Industry and all other industries in uncharted territories.

On behalf of the MOGSC Executive Committee and Secretariat, I would like to say that our thoughts and prayers are with for those that are affected. And our deepest gratitude and prayers for the safety and health of our Malaysian unsung heroes at the forefront, fighting to contain COVID-19, to keep the rest of us safe.

MOGSC have always provided the neutral platform for the Malaysian Oil and Gas service providers to be able to reach out to our Stakeholders, i.e. our Clients, and vice versa.

In this challenging time, MOGSC continues to provide that platform to allow the 3 stakeholders – PETRONAS, Government and Industry to continue to communicate to ensure clarity to the continuity and operability of our industry.

The Oil and Gas Industry is defined as an Essential Service under the Industrial Relations Act 1967 (Act 177). Hence, during MCO, the industry is required to be operational.

To understand this better in terms of what this means to your businesses, MOGSC have continuously:

  • Engaged with PETRONAS/Stakeholders to elevate immediate issues and concerns from the industry, to provide quick responses and clarifications to our members.
  • Created MOGSC Updates, to disseminate information from all stakeholders, relevant to our industry.
  • Provided a platform where members can provide feedback and concerns for specific issues to their businesses via the feedback platform in the MOGSC Updates.
  • Provided a platform where members from different sectors can virtually meet during MCO, to discuss current issues. (Participate in MOGSC Working groups).

MOGSC will continue to provide the neutral platform where the Oil, Gas and Energy industry, be it stakeholders or contractors can discuss O&G and Energy industry issues. We value your input and feedbacks and we encourage for you to continue to provide these to help us, help you.
The low oil price has compounded our industry challenges further.
The road to recovery will not be easy.
MOGSC will be organising dialogues to discuss the impact of COVID-19 and the low oil price to our industry and to our businesses in the different sectors.
We encourage members to actively participate in the MOGSC working group discussions.
The knowledge we gather through MOGSC will be vital to help us understand, strategise, and communicate to stakeholders, towards preparing this industry for the anticipated difficult times ahead.
We are in this together.
Let us all do our part to curtail and flatten the spread of this virus by #stayhome and #staysafe.
Warmest Regards,
Ts. Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha
MOGSC President
